The birds in Morris Park have been hungry this winter, emptying our birdfeeder every day in a few hours. Finally visited Scott Arboretum as you recommended, and it is beautiful!
Wonderful catch! I’ve not seen any around us here in the mountains. We have mostly Eastern bluebirds, cardinals, wrens, sparrows, robins and for the first time in years, blue jays!

Hey, that’s great! There’s always something of interest at the Scott. I’m looking forward to the cherry blossoms!

Nice photos. Thanks for sharing. I normally have several White Breasted Nuthatches that frequent my yard but I haven’t seen any this winter.

Thanks, Doug. I was just flipping through your photos. Wow. Beautiful stuff!

I hope he stashed plenty. It doesn’t sound like winter is ready to let go yet.

We just started seeing ground again, but more snow’s on the way this week. Another chance for sledding.

Thanks Cyn. I’d love to spot a bluebird by Little Crum Creek!

It’s pretty well camouflaged in the first photo–had to go back a second time to see it. Smart little birdie.

Oh, you’re right–blends right into the trunk of a background tree. It’s taken me a long time to get close enough to a nuthatch for photos.

We had a stray red-breasted nuthatch last winter– what a treat. That’s the only one I’ve seen in our yard.

Funny you mention it–I just came across a blurry picture of one that I never posted. I don’t see the red-breasted much either.
