Some moths are so intricate and just darn pretty that I have a hard time telling them apart from butterflies. This and the shot in the prior post is amazing! Thanks. 😉
Thank you, Daphne. I think these pretty little moths have put a spell on me. I’m not always sure whether I’m looking at a moth or butterfly either. The excellent folks at Butterflies and Moths of North America help me with ID sometimes. They also have a few easy tips for telling the difference between butterflies & moths: http://www.butterfliesandmoths.org/faq/what-difference-between-moth-and-butterfly
I love bounding down hills (I bet you do to, too). It’s like flying. But I definitely plod in the other direction, taking time to see stuff from below.
Yeah, especially finding things in places you don’t normally look and realizing you must be walking past things all the time that you don’t know are there.
I wrote an article once about 5-minute increments. I walked along the gravel road by my rural property for 5 minutes and noted what I saw. Then I slowed my pace considerable for another 5 minutes. The last 5 minutes I moved slower than a turtle. It’s amazing how much is seen in the slow 5 minutes.
Right. The women used to like my articles when I camped (Didn’t have Buffy way back then). I’d sit out early, eating breakfast and drinking a cup of coffee, listening to birds, etc.

Thanks … I was impressed by how it seemed glued flat to the contours of the leaf.

It’s amazing how the small can be just as interesting and such a treat, as the bigger more-obvious finds.

Hey, I’m all for the slow movement (if we’re gonna move at all!).

It’s fun to put a name to some of those several white flutterers I’d otherwise just call “moths”.
