Scott–that kingfisher has an interesting profile; almost like a set of bat’s ears.

Well, the bats do outnumber the kingfishers right around here.
Come dusk, a slight tilt of the head helps spot several starting to swoop and dart against the backdrop of day’s last light.

He’s a rare sight for me. Thought I heard another the other morning, but couldn’t spot it. Just passing through, I guess.
